Christmas fun 2007!!

seepy seepy mommy!

Mmmm, what is it daddy?!?
...The Year of the Sit and Spin!

It was tricky keeping her baby bum on the base but she llloves it!
Such a fun day. We started early when I got home w/ the traditional home made Grammie Christine's cinnamon rolls. Brian and the Bit slept in a little but joined me for some cider and rolls before mommy went to bed for a few hours. I couldn't stand it long so I woke up and we hit the packages together. Abigail had a wonderful day w/ her sit and spin and giant legos. She still is our favorite present again this year and watching her take it all in and making it specail for her just made our day. We spent a good bit of the evening on the phone catching up with our loving family stretching from Maine to Florida. Thanks to God for a wonderful Christmas 2007!

Having a Holly Jolly Christmas Eve!!

"Daddy that's amazing....what is it??"

Mommy got into the action playing in the princess tent. Daddy wasn't as happy to be photographed in the hot pink tent!

The poor thing shot up a fever of around 101 by the end of the night so we let her go topless to keep her cool. She looked like William Wallace from Braveheart w/ her plaid skirt and no shirt! Stupid cute!

Grammie hit the jack pot with her Disney princess tent and Tinkerbell lantern!

She loved the shoes and purse. Such a "big girl"

Hanging out w/ her Grammie and Auntie D.

Such a fun evening. Once mommy woke up (worked night before) and Auntie D got off work we started the party. We had a great meal (ummm of course, look what family I married into) of Rib roast and twice baked potatoes. Abigail, a little under the weather, snuggled up w/ D to take a nap while things got ready. Then we partied hard after ward w/ fun and gifts and good Banana chocolate chip pie and Ginger cake. It was a special evening and we love our family! Abigail was begging to go to bed by the end of the day and no walking her to sleep this night. She pointed and grunted to her bed and went into her pink silk blankets w/o any fuss!

Daddy and his girl!

Abigail found the best seat in the house!

Dinner on the town.....

Saturday night we hit the town with Deana, her new man Greg and Christine for a glamerous dinner and a tour of the trees. We had a wonderful dinner in the Pine Room. Abigail marveled us all refusing her baby tray and pulling up to the table with the 'big people'. And I was proud as peach and shocked when I looked over and caught her opening up her napkin and laying it in her lap like an adult!!!! She nibbled at her plate quietly almost forgetting we had a 17 month old even joining us. It was a great meal!

After dinner we walked around and looked at all the themed Christmas trees the businesses all over the valley display around the lobbies. They had piano music playing Christmas carols and a roaring fire in the giant fire place. It was beautiful!! Abigail loosened up then and remembered it was ok to be a kid. She ran wild in her little plaid skirt and black mary janes, in and out of the decked out couples in black ties and evening gowns looking for an elegant evening!!! There must have been a wedding going on or something. She even found another little 20 mo old girl decked out in her santa dress to play with. She always seems to find a friend. I'm afraid our Bit was a bad influence on her cause she was behaving so nicely til she caught sight of the fun Abigail was having. The 2 of them took over the peacful place and had a great time. Luckily we seemed to get more smiles then frowns from our invasion. And her good Daddy didn't let her get too baby crazy chasing her all over the place! The sweet thing was he really didn't mind. And mommy kept up capturing all the kodak moments :)

We took our time and had a wonderful time feeling full and taking in all the sites of the season. Thanks family for a special evening together. And welcome Greg, we enjoyed you spending the evening with us!!!

Snow Day!!

Ok, Mike....don't laugh too hard at our pitiful excuse for snow! We know, trust me I hear it enough from your son!!! Abigail needs to experience some serious New England snow before too long. I agree! Regardless she and I had a blast learning all about the white stuff together one chilly December morning. She was NOT happy when I put her in the middle of it. She waved her little baby arms in protest until I put her back on the asphalt. I did have fun capturing the true Kodak moment of her really playing with it in her little blue mittens. She really did just point and protest all over the place with repeating "Ahh oww" at the mess all over the ground. :)

Mommy's big helper

"mommy, I dropped it!"
Abigail wanted to try what mommy was doing to make her smile for the picture. :)

Today we had such a good time. Hopefully the beginning of a fun new tradition of my big helper to the massive amounts of pumpkin muffins that must be made each and every Thanksgiving! Started by my mom who loaded us up with a million of these little orange miracles every Thanksgiving of my childhood. Abigail obviously loves to help in the kitchen and this year I plopped her on the counter top and let her participate in the making of a million muffins. She giggled and laughed and got into every little ingredient I added. She was too cute in her bib overal's (thanks Annie and Jason , you rock!) and her painted red toes! We sang to Michael Buble and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. Looking forward to many more holiday cooking memories with my Bit! :) Thank God for our Holiday blessing this year!

The year of the Chicken ...

The beginning of the day we experienced "The Angry Chicken" (pictured left).... by the end of the day she realized she got attention and food from the outfit so she was absolutely fine with it (pictured right)
I hope one day she'll forgive me for putting her through this cause she was soooo mad at her mommy that morning!

Party at the Downy's

This year Halloween started early as the Bit and I hit Daddy's office then Grammie Christine's office, then my office, then over to the hospital to Labor and Delivery unit and Aunti D's unit! Needless to say the Chicken was quite pooped by the end of the morning! She was a big hit and we had such a good time. That evening was celebrated at the Downy's house. We had a great time! Our dear friends were very sweet not to mind the chicken waddling up to their plates full of holiday goodies with her mouth wide open, sometimes grabbing sneakily with out permission!! Sorry guys! We're working on this bad habit. Such a fun night even if we did bail out too early to get the chicken to bed. Happy Halloween!!
