We had a special opportunity this summer to go on a vacation with some dear friends of ours. My friend Tara's parents own a beach house and there was room for 2 families to spread out, kick our feet up and watch the "chillen". We excitedly accepted the invite to play for a week with our buddies and make some surf and sand memories! It was a noisy week with 4 little girls from ages 4-8 but it was a welcome rowdy noise we were all accustomed to anyway so we just talked over the little princesses and had a blast. Luckily Nick and Tara vacation at our speed...which is relax first then play, eat sleep repeat! It was a wonderful time. We scooted around all week in Tara's dad's golf cart which barely fit all 8 of us but we made it work. We bounced up and down the sandy roads to the beach and back. Nick and Brian cooked the ENTIRE week and when Tara and I tried to help put together the final meal before heading home we giggled in our guilt that we barely knew where the pots were. We got us some fantastic hubbies and it was a heavenly break for my buddy and me to sit at the counter chatting up a storm and watching the fellows rock some kitchen duty. They enjoyed it and the food was fabulous. We didn't want to come home. That's always a true sign of a great time had by all. :)

Abigail turns 8!!!
Abigail took long time to decide what she wanted to do for her birthday this year. We kind of wanted to keep it small since we'd be doing a big party for Chloe in the Fall. She opted for some Mexican food and put put. Brian and I were tickled at how random but brilliant her idea was. We went with a couple families that house 2 of her best buddies and mine too incidentally! I'm so thankful that God had brought both of these women into my life in the past few years through Abigail's friendships at her school. Both Sarah and Lisa are 2 of my best friends now and I love them both to pieces! We had a wonderful night celebrating the Bit turning 8! Man these years are flying by!! We filled our bellies with chips and dip then off to play mini golf as the hot summer sun went down. We finished the night at Dairy Queen and let Abigail open her gifts. It was a wonderful night for all of us.
