It's amazing how rarely we get to get off by ourselves at this point in our life. I always swore I'd never be one of those parents who didn't ever go out on dates but it's so incredibly easy to allow months upon months to go by. Before you know it you're looking back and a year has passed and you've maybe gone out twice. It's not for lack of baby sitters, our sweet family is always willing. Part of the problem is I work weekends, Bri works Monday through Friday. Hopefully it won't be forever that we're broke and always working or too tired to play. It also helps to have a little girls who's just not a pill at 3 yrs old, never has been. We just enjoy her too much to always be screaming for a break. You know what though, once we do get a date on the calendars Brian and I both look forward to it so much. We need to make more effort. I do love getting off as adults together. With out an adorable little distraction to take our focus off of each other. He is such a wonderful hubby and I like having all his attention. :) We had a blast this week hitting up Buffalo Wild Wings on 45 cent wing night with some dear friends of ours, Chris and Natalie, then off to a much anticipated viewing of our beloved Harry Potter. Those movies are never long enough even at 2 hrs and like 40 minutes. It flies by and I always want an extended version. Such a great story and it's great to hang out with other people who allow their inner 8 year old self to enjoy the magical world. :) We had a wonderful night. I stuffed myself sick on movie popcorn and I made Brian promise we wouldn't wait 6 more months before we head out again. He is after all such a hot date to hold arms with. :)

Go Team!
Well Mi-Mi does it again. Mom and Dad came over this week to surprise the Bit with a few more birthday presents. And it was a Bit sized cheerleader doll, who incidentally cheers when you squeeze her hand. Abigail loved the new outfit we just had to look on the internet to show her what a cheerleader actually was. She was thrilled to learn and afterward took off screaming and rolling all over the den. She's learning the cheers at a rapid rate and Brian and I are....thrilled....to hear her chanting away w/ her doll. :) She was very happy with it and has had a ball running around in the outfit on and has a great time w/ her life sized doll to dance and cheer with. Thanks Mom and Dad!!

It's a Bit's birthday!!!!!!!
And the tea set was pretty darn special too
It was so cute, she actually put all the dolls in their beds when it was time for us to stop playing and go up to bed.
Such a sweet birthday this year. We had a great day celebrating 3 years of Abigail. We met Daddy for lunch at the mall then headed home to make a cake together. She picked it this year, a pink princess cake per her request. Remarkably she took a good long nap so I could finish getting ready then she was up with a bang and ready for our party. Christine and D and Greg came over for a lazy spaghetti casserole dinner and princess party. Abigail was so appreciative and thrilled to get her very first bike , a traditional balloon that was bigger then her (thank you Grammie) and a beautiful new "dog house" (doll house) to play with. She loved the fru fru tea set from her Grampa Mike and Miss Lynn. Aunti D hooked her up w/ 4 new tutus and she had tried them all on twice by bedtime. It was a special family time and we haven't stopped batting the balloons around the boxes and mess yet. Thanks everyone for helping to make it great!

Vacation Bible School time

Abigail had a great time this past week participating in her very first VBS. She went every day from 9-12 (hello, I had an awesome time too. Nice little taste of freedom) each day and by the end of the week she was exhausted but still begging to go back. They did a 'Studio Go' theme which was kind of game show centered and she learned all different kinds of Bible stories and songs. She met some friends that will be in her class of preschool this fall, one in particular was Garrison. Each day I'd pick her up a couple new volunteers would tell me what a sweet girl she is and ....did I know she had a boyfriend?? Of course at 2 yrs almost 3 now, she barely knew that Garrison was a boy just a really cool playmate. But the teachers got a kick out of the quick bond she formed w/ this little guy. They were quite the item for everyone else to enjoy all week. One lady told me in the gym one morning their 2 classes merged and across the gym floor they hollered each others names and ran into an adorable embrace that made everyone crack up! Luckily his mom was one of her teachers so she got to enjoy first hand the new friendship. One day I picked her up and Garrison screamed and cried in an all out toddler tantrum just because I was taking "dat girl" away for the day. We assured the two they can play together all next year in school. I explained to his mom when she looked a little embarassed that Abigail's used to wild little boys w/ her crazy cousins. They keep up w/ her energy so well she's just used to boys. She's still singing the darlin songs from the week and she made lots of cute crafts to brag to her Daddy as soon as he'd get home each night. Great experience and we can't wait to get into the preschool world in a couple months to let her enjoy more.
