Well call us crazy..(.we always do) we just returned from and incredible vacation last week to our favorite place in the whole world Walt Disney World. If someone had told me after Abigail was born that by the second baby I'd be up for traveling 12 + hours in a car for a week vacation w/ a 6 wk old I'd have told you you're crazy. But folks were right, second babies are sooooo much easier! Chloe is such a little snuggle bug and laid back (maybe mommy is more too) so we just had an absolute blast! And with a year like 2009 was we soooo needed some Mickey Mouse! Mom and Dad so graciously lent us some timeshare love and we stayed in the most beautiful resort and were able to stock a full kitchen and relax all spread out just like home. We only spent 2 days at the parks and the other days we just filled w/ some fun in the sun and playing very much on little Chloe's schedule. :) Our first day we hit the pools after a nice walk around the resort. The wonderful 80 degree weather surprised us a little and we went back quick to change into bathing suits. Abigail will never believe us anymore when we tell her there's no swimming in December! On Monday we went to the very magic kingdom and enjoyed again a laid back visit and just admired the beautiful decorations. Samatha Brown was right, it was gorgeous! We went back to the room for lunch and nap then let the Bit put on her much loved Belle dress and return for the fireworks display. It was great fun filled w/ our favorite fireworks show 'Wishes' and a visit to the Main Street Bakery for family chocolatey goodness all around.
On Tuesday we went to visit Brian's grandmother on the coast, grammie Adam. We had a wonderful visit and spent the day letting Abigail entertain everyone yet again. She got to meet a wonderful man, a 96 yr old friend of Grammies who has built the girls a dollhouse to be sent for Christmas. Abigail and he hit it off like old pals.
On Wednesday we started early with an old favorite the character breakfast at Hollywood Studios so Abigail could visit with her friends Jo-Jo and little Einstiens. We stuffed and laughed ....well most of us. Chloe wasn't quite as happy this day, maybe the heat or the noise I'm not sure but she wasn't as big a fan of it as we were. I had to opt out before too long and find the wonderful baby center to feed her. Disney has these awesome areas for mom's that I discovered, and they were done up with true Disney class. Air conditioned little rooms w/ rocking chairs and even a dimmer for the light. Chloe and I were very impressed. We also got to see some wonderful shows this time at Hollywood Studios, definitely the way to enjoy this park. We've never done the shows before but really realized how great they were here. We got to see Abigail's favorite shows do Disney's Playhouse w/ puppets and then a wonderful almost broadway quality production of Beauty and the Beast. That evening we had a wild combination to see everything we wanted too. We started with an across park run to the farthest side of Epcot to a beautiful candlelight processional Christmas show w/ Mr. Peterson from Seinfeild narrarating. We then enjoyed the decorations there for a while. Chloe and I hung out on a beautiful bench in France while Brian and the Bit went to find a visit by Belle for pictures. After Epcot we raced over back to Hollywood studios in the nick of time to see the most amazing lights display we'd ever seen in the Osmond family Christmas Specatular set to music. We literally walked into the middle of the street as it started to play this rocking version of carol of the bells and the world around us came alive and fake snow fell down on us. Everyone just starts whooing and hollering and dancing, it was a blast!!!! It was an amazing night and a wonderful memory for our little family. Even Chloe woke up for this one!
Thursday we played some Mickey style mini golf followed by an evening tour of the luxury resort of Disney's Grand Floridian. Man that place had style!!!! We had to do 2 laps around the parking lot just to figure out how to NOT do valet parking. They put the self parking across the street and make you hike forever to get into the front door. I felt kind of sneaky to slip in amongst all that money and try to pretend we belong. I felt better when we got inside and the lobby was packed with people just like us probably doing the same thing we were. And Abigail and Chloe were definitely our ticket to feeling like we belonged. Everyone made over the girls in their matching dresses, they were quite a hit w/ the wealthy folks we were rubbing elbows with. :) We stayed for a while walking around on the most beautiful warm night with this amazing full moon over the lake and the pool area. It was just magical, ...well till Chloe got hungry again. :) Then we found some overpriced ice cream to keep our promise to Abigail and headed home to call it a night. We left Friday morning to head home. Pushing like we always do when we get home on our minds and hearts. The 12 hour trip turned into almost 16 hours with stopping all day to feed sweet Chloe. The girls were absolutely amazing to be cooped up in the car all that time for our rainy drive home. I promise Abigail didn't cry until we were 15 minutes from the house at almost 2 in the morning and Chloe only screamed at brief intervals before we'd stop and feed her and at about 30 min from home and fell back asleep before we even came into our town. We couldn't be more blessed w/ our kids that's for sure!!! Otherwise we could have never done a trip like this with such a little one. God has richly blessed us and brought us through a wild year to end on such a good note!! We are so grateful!! ....and we are still true fans and with in 2 days of being home Bri was back on Disney's web site dreaming of when we can go again.
