All ready to break a leg we left the house by 10 am packed for a long day doing our thang!
Company kids get their own stations in the old theater so we had fun decorating it and calling it home for a couple days.
nah, I'm not having any fun here!
The one and only "Cwadia" Chloe adores this young lady!
Yeah! Grammie came and toughed it out for the whole LONG day. We were so grateful for the support. 2 shows, one at 1 and the other at 6 and she smiled and cheered the whole day for these girls.
Again, I was obsessed with this hallway. I like pictures with depth. You'll see several shots with my family walking down it.
Chloe loves this little girl named Julianna. They found each other at every competition and Chloe would get scooped right up by her.
Abigail's Jr company teacher this year Miss Sammi. She taught her an awful lot and Abigail really loved her!
waiting to take the stage. Keeping the little ones still and quiet when the curtain goes up is not an easy thing to do
Abigail asked me if she could go hug Chloe and give her some words of advice before she went on. I love these series of pictures. They are possibly my favorites from the whole season!
And this picture of Abigail looking on while Chloe dances in her proud protective big sister stance, still makes my eyes water! It is my favorite picture from the year. I have copies of it everywhere. So much that Abigail rolls her eyes when she catches me ordering more.
I love the shots from back stage. I think they tell a neat story of behind the scenes. This is our 3 main teachers. Riley the owner in the headset, Sarah and Sammi
I like how you can see the girls cut their eyes to see their teachers watching :)
Another buddy Emma
2 of the smallest kids in the whole company and it was a little bit disgusting how much pepperoni Evelyn and the Bit were putting away! Little bodies need protein but I couldn't get them to pull it away from their mouths long enough to take a picture. Love these 2!
Clogging 1 did a great job
First show over now time to walk to a burger joint to grab a bite and catch our breath.
I love this picture of Brian and his mom. Her expression is so sweet!
What are you going to do, kids will be kids and we had time to kill.
Abigail and her buddy Evelyn
I know my girl, and those pretty blue eyes are starting to feel the long busy week and get tired here.
It's such a beautiful old city landmark theater that we get to enjoy every year for recital! My grandfather went to high school here I believe way back in the day when it was a school.
Chloe gets scooped a lot! This is a senior (Julianna's sister) Mallory that also bonded with the audience snuggle buddy that was Chloe all season.
This is just following an I'm growing up moment and discussion with me and Abigail. "Mommy, I'm never going to learn how to do this if I never try to put my make up on by myself". Big proud smile and a "no sweetie, I guess you're right go ahead". ......sniff!
Aand that's why that grin is so satisfied and proud. :) ......(and she has a little mascara in her eyebrow, but did I tell her? NO!)
Better walk out and check on our support team waiting patiently in the audience for the evening show to start. They are troopers in my book!!!!!!!!!
almost curtain time!!!
and back stage it was getting rowdy and wild as the excitement built
supervising the kids all playing and stretching on stage. Miss Amy Miss Sarah and Miss Riley keeping it together
She was fading fast but still vertical!!
Group pep talk, such a special bond these kids have :) I loved that they grabbed Chloe to include her even though she was done dancing for the day
GO BULLS!!!
I told you she gets scooped a lot! They were fighting over who got to hold her here
Our station was getting messier as the night went on but lots of love arrived as the flower arrangements also grew for our little performers. (and my most important fuel for the day in the green power of the Dew bottle)
At intermission they awarded 6 students out of the whole school with scholarships for the upcoming dance year. They got it for standing out in classes by showing a hard work ethic and always going the extra mile. Abigail worked her tiny tushy off this year and Brian and I couldn't have been more proud of her and thankful that her teachers noticed her incredible dedication through the year.
Showing sissy her new medal!
Such an incredibly long draining day and look at his expression. This had to be taken at close to 10 o'clock at night and look at him. Big smiles as he slings all those bags of expensive costumes over his shoulder. LOVE THAT MAN!!! These girls are so blessed beyond words to have him in their life!!!
Finally heading home!
She was out with in minutes of putting her to bed still caked in make up. We'll wash that baby face tomorrow. For now, enjoy your flowers little dancer and sweet dreams!!
