First 2 weeks under our belts and doing good!

Abigail can't wait to get to her Chloe when she wakes up from that afternoon nap!

Me and Chloe enjoying our new ritual of berry smoothies together.

Brian was more awake then he looked, he must have blinked. But the little one is NOT loving the early wake up time.

The past 2 weeks have gone good. Good reports from the teacher. Only trouble we've caused it not liking the shoe policy of daily sneakers. I can proudly say though we have challenged it and found our way around it. I am raising a girl after all. My parents raised us early to be young ladies and I want to allow Abigail to be and look feminine. She has been wearing plastic heels with out so much as a wobble since she was 18 months old! She can certainly handle black patten mary janes w/ rubber soles and safely navigate the out door play area! She is making new friends. The most exciting friendship actually started this summer when I reconnected with a family up the street. Their daughter Emma is quite the match for Abigail's personality and the two, even though in different classes are enjoying lunches together and trading plastic jewelery to mark their BFF status.
A very unexpected joy of the past 2 weeks really has been how much I'm getting a chance to enjoy and get to know Chloe. She is a very different kid w/o her sissy around and it's a delight to watch. She plays different, she cuddles more and she seems just over all content. I know she misses her sister but I think she's cool with the undivided attention she gets from me until 2:30 rolls around. The girls certainly make up for the lost bonding time all morning when Abigail gets home. They hit the ground running when Chloe wakes up from that nap and they go full speed until we pry them apart and send them to bed. They are louder, faster and more giggly then ever in those evening hours. It's so sweet to see! I don't think elementary school has dampened their relationship at all. Quite the contrary I think it's stronger now.
I think this school thing is going to work well for us. It's a blessing when a lot of peers aren't having as good of a start to the whole thing. I'm proud as peach at Abigail for doing so well and so thankful to God for giving us this good start.
