One of our best cookie parties yet this go round. We had such a good turn out which you can't predict. Some years no one can make it then some years everyone happens to be free. This was one of those years and we just had the best time. It's funny, the party has evolved over the past 4 years since we've been doing this. We started when Chloe was an infant when we started so our youngest was 2 months old and the oldest was Abigail at 3. Now little Mindy was the baby and we had 7 yr olds there. The decrease in mess was amazing and no left overs! The kids always take their cookies home when they have worked so hard on them, not this year. They gobbled them all up. Another odd thing about this year was the 70 degree weather we had outside. For the first time I had the windows open in the house for the party. That was fun and after decorating we all went outside to let the kids run off their sugar highs. It was a blessed day with only one sad moment. When poor Katie and Annabelle walked in the door little Katie puked all over my kitchen floor. Natalie looked in horror as the other mom's quickly gathered up some cookies for the kids to take back home with them. They promptly turned right back around and left. Poor kids, they just cried to miss the fun. But Nat made it up by hosting her own mini party that Chloe and the Bit went to that next Sunday. It always is so fun to let the kids be kids and more and more we mom's can actually interact now that they all are getting more independent. It's a sweet tradition we all look forward to each year. It was fun to see it full and grow this year. And I must admit our group shot turned out great!
