Blasted vaccines!!!

Well I learned something about Chloe this week. Her body does NOT like vaccines. My poor sweetie fell into the rare 10% of kids who have a reaction to the MMR vaccine. I must say I think Chloe handled it better then I did. Brian will attest that I did NOT like seeing her go through that in her little body. I know it's better then getting the real deal Measles but it still was no picnic. Her fever shot up to 103 with in a couple days of her 1 yr shots. Then she had this horrible malaise about her for a solid week where she had no personality and just sat around limply. I knew she felt bad it was so pitiful. By 2 weeks out, just when I thought she was through the worst and finally turning a corner the rash started. It lasted about 4 days total. She looked horrible and I hated seeing her like that. I kept calls into my emergency guru's Amy and Sue to consult on both my child and my mommy fears. They felt my pain w/ me and sent lots of prayers our way. Sometimes you just need an understanding ear to appreciate how hard it is as a mom to see your kids in pain. Eventually the rash faded, the lymph nodes went back to normal size and all was well. Chloe's a trooper.......and I ......survived.

just some sweet everyday things...

We watched little Caroline for our buddies who were due with baby #2 any day so they could have one last date before things.....well changed forever. :)

the girls made cards for the little new baby

Chloe found a good seat, I think the cats tipped her off that this looked like a good place to check out traffic

we hit the post Halloween sales for next year.....wigs were really cheap.

Just Chloe "helping" me in the kitchen

First professional hair cut

I realize I can't really fuss at the kids to "please put your shoes up", when mommy and daddy set such a wonderful example. Abigail lovingly refers to this as being "fantastic mommy". She can't pronounce sarcastic so she calls it fantastic. I refuse to correct her or help her with it cause it's too darn cute. It's let me know just how much I use sarcasm from day to day when she tells me so often now since she's learned to recognize it. And if Abigail notices it she WILL tell you! There have been some real cute sweet things the kids have done this week that I just have to put on paper before I forget. First of all I have to remember something Abigail's teachers let me know about when I picked her up from school today. She has the typical obsession with the Disney princesses that haunts many families of small girls. Today evidently she took her imagination to a new level of role play. Evidently she performed, very loudly and enthusiastically the ballad from Aladdin today on the playground, "A Whole New World" from inside a little playhouse. Much to the great amusement of her very smitten teachers she finished with grand style and evidently so caught up in the moment and moved with the music that she grabbed poor little Isaiah, her classmate and kissed him right on the cheek at the end. I informed the teachers as they laughed out loud that we aren't doing very well to teach her how to play hard to get as a young girl. That's just my Bit. The whole world is a face for her to kiss on. Her innocence and passion knows no bounds.
Now Chloe has been equally precious this week. She's catching onto so much more each day it's so fun to watch her learn and grow. She is anxious to participate in as much as her little baby body and mind will allow her to. Every time I've put her to bed this week, after I give her her bedtime bottle I try to get her to burp. I always have before I put her down. Well now lately when she hears the sound of my hand slapping against her back she associates it with clapping and starts smiling and clapping her hands like she's done something good. It's so cute! I get so tickled I can' hardly keep burping her. I stop to laugh , she smiles and when I start up again to burp her she starts to clap again. Love this kid! When I put her in her crib she has a purple dinosaur I got her for her birthday. I like to make it talk to get her to be ok w/ being put down. She giggles so sweetly and keeps handing it back to me every time I put it down w/ a big gummy smile on her face. Also I love to smooch and chew on her toes by pulling her feet through the rails of her crib. She loves this and will roll all over the place to find me and shove her feet through the rails so I keep doing it.
These kids are a never ending source of entertainment to Brian and me. We never tire of watching and listening to what they come up with next. I guess that's just the wonderful joy that is parenthood. :)

Trick or Treat

the sleepy chicken stuck it out for one more night in the suit

not too surprising the girls were very well received by the houses

proof of abigail's thing with all her jack o lantern crafts she's made them frown.....not sure why?

the frowning jack o lantern of 2010

this picture scares me to death, she looks WAY too grown up in it!!

posing w/ the finished product, can't take credit for the kitty cat, that was made by her grammie

the kids took time to pose while daddy slaved away

he did remarkably well considering he had a curious strumpet under his arm

ok guys...mommy will get dirty and scoop out the muck with her hand

Abigail absolutely agreed that the insides were really gross

Chloe trying so desperately to help daddy

Ok, so the grand finally day to the whole fun week was really good. I wish I had gotten pictures of them in their matching dresses at church to start the day off, but mommy wasn't that on the ball. After naps Daddy introduced the kids to a little thing called pumpkin carving. He got a little wigged out at the insides so mommy had to take over. Come on folks, it's not blood, just vegetation!! It was fun. Abigail insisted on the frown to go with all her other pumpkin faces this week. Chloe just could not get involved enough to please her little baby self. Both kids helped me kill time by posing on the pretty fall day.
Tonight we hit Aunti Deana's house....but just with out Deana. She had to work...boo hiss. It was fun though. She lives in the most picturesque old neighborhood and it's just loaded w/ decorations and families to make it special. Abigail got lots more candy, and the chicken...well lets just say mommy ducked out early to get her to her much anticipated bed time. :) Happy Halloween everyone!!

my pitiful little chicken

this is Mr. Brian, Abigail's preschool director, obviously we are fans! :)

the strumpet was fading pretty quickly into the party. Not surprising after the week she's had

I love these shots that are more true to life....! scoop that baby!

such a cute game, Brian got into the action but wouldn't let me post his pics

Grammie came over to show us how cute she looked all done up for her office day of fun

our wonderful teacher let the kids run off the sugar for a minute before she dismissed the students

Chloe's always a hit with the older girls

my little febrile party pooper

Such fun festive week around here. We've hit some good events and made some good memories. First Abigail's Ballet class let the kids come in costume. Most kids forgot but luckily we remembered and she was so excited to finally be allowed to wear the costume. Second, her school did a fall party and we had a ball laughing at all the 4 yr olds all done up for the party. Chloe was my big helper except for the fact that she had a left over fever and had been up most of the night. Her well visit shots this week have rocked our world. High fevers have killed the fun for our little strumpet but she's hanging in there. It made for a little more pooped out mommy but we managed to pull off pumkin cookie pops and spooky ghosts on a stick. The kids had a ball and it was just adorable to see them all.
The school put on a wonderful fall festival for the community and we were so glad we decided to go. They pulled out all the stops with little old fashioned games and activities. We played hard between bouncy castles and pumpkin bowling. It was a ball, again Chloe did not quite feel like herself but she looked adorable anyway. Abigail was in candy corn witch heaven with all her classmates to pal around with. We ate hot dogs and hamburgers, popcorn and lemonade. Abigail got herself a bag full of candy out of the trunks all decorated up for the occasion. Some were scary but Brian did his fatherly duty to protect the little dear from the big bad spiders and dry ice. Awesome time!!
