Well I learned something about Chloe this week. Her body does NOT like vaccines. My poor sweetie fell into the rare 10% of kids who have a reaction to the MMR vaccine. I must say I think Chloe handled it better then I did. Brian will attest that I did NOT like seeing her go through that in her little body. I know it's better then getting the real deal Measles but it still was no picnic. Her fever shot up to 103 with in a couple days of her 1 yr shots. Then she had this horrible malaise about her for a solid week where she had no personality and just sat around limply. I knew she felt bad it was so pitiful. By 2 weeks out, just when I thought she was through the worst and finally turning a corner the rash started. It lasted about 4 days total. She looked horrible and I hated seeing her like that. I kept calls into my emergency guru's Amy and Sue to consult on both my child and my mommy fears. They felt my pain w/ me and sent lots of prayers our way. Sometimes you just need an understanding ear to appreciate how hard it is as a mom to see your kids in pain. Eventually the rash faded, the lymph nodes went back to normal size and all was well. Chloe's a trooper.......and I ......survived.
