Christmas fun 2007!!

...The Year of the Sit and Spin!

It was tricky keeping her baby bum on the base but she llloves it!
Such a fun day. We started early when I got home w/ the traditional home made Grammie Christine's cinnamon rolls. Brian and the Bit slept in a little but joined me for some cider and rolls before mommy went to bed for a few hours. I couldn't stand it long so I woke up and we hit the packages together. Abigail had a wonderful day w/ her sit and spin and giant legos. She still is our favorite present again this year and watching her take it all in and making it specail for her just made our day. We spent a good bit of the evening on the phone catching up with our loving family stretching from Maine to Florida. Thanks to God for a wonderful Christmas 2007!

Why I'm here...

I am a busy part stay at home/part flex nurse mom who loves memory making and doesn't trust my own brain to hold all of the treasures that God gives me! I have a blog not because I think that my family and sweet children are any more special then any other children (well that's not entirely true, every mother thinks her kids are the best in the world so in that way I guess I'm normal). But I realized when my oldest daughter was born that my love of Creative Memories and scrapbooking became a horrible challenge to keep up with, with life's many distractions (ie, kids). We live in a small house with no assigned "craft room" to house the mess of scrapbooks. And from the start my daughter loved to be into any and everything I was into. Now add #2 in little Chloe and I fell grossly behind in picture and memory storage. I LOVE taking pictures and journaling! I easily forget my funny moments with them and my pictures can not be enjoyed stored on some hard drive in my computer! My sister put me onto this concept about 6+ years ago and it's worked wonderful for me. I keep up with uploading photos and journaling these precious simple moments in parenting and life and it's always backed up here on my site. (Thank you EBlogger!) Every year I then transfer my blog to a book making software program (I use Blurb.com) and order a hard copy of the year's events. It's not as expensive as all that card stock paper, stickers and albums that add up! This way only gets pricy when I order 3 of each year (a copy for me and Brian then a copy each for the girls to have one day). It's a system that works well for me. So, the moral of this story is enjoy my blog if you want but I am not on here to boast. I firmly believe God hates pride and I try hard not to take a displeasing pride in our life or children. It's tough when the girls bring us so much joy and we are proud OF them! And when we love them so much. Please don't think for a moment either that our life is as sunny and perfect as my photos show here. I don't post pictures of my low hormone grumpy mommy days, or the days we're bickering or stir crazy! Life is real, for everyone. For the most part I only post the good parts but the bad parts are still here. :) God says in His word He opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble so I will strive to be honestly humble in His eyes while always giving him the glory in the blessings I post here and that He gives us day to day. He is our rock, our joy and our salvation and I pray our life will always bring Him glory. Not us.

playing with my growing girls and teaching them about this life and world they are in, when they fill our home with noisy giggles they fill my heart to overflowing!
stealing some time w/ my sweet hubby and laughing ourselves silly to Big Bang Theory or congratulating ourselves on staying up late on a Friday night to catch a movie on cable.
bringing babies into the world on my other 9-5, I really do love being a L&D nurse. Almost 15 years at it and it never gets old
old movies, musicals mostly and hoping my girls love them as much as me, I think I have Abigail hooked already
God's coolest fuzzy creation...cats
drinking good coffee with Brian, the only one who truely appreciates it as much as me
spending a quiet moment when God gives me one to worship my Savior Jesus Christ
taking pictures of my family and friends and wasting hours blogging with them all
